Rama Chides Sita
Thus Sita had her head lowered due to shyness, seeing his Sita who was near him, his anger swelled. “Lady! I won over my enemies; I have burnt their capital; avenged; a Kshatriya warrior what he should do remove the insult meted out to him, I did that. But you may think I did all this to get you back. That is totally incorrect. All my efforts have fructified; I punished Ravana for the unpardonable act he did to me. His Lineage and and the disrespect he showed to me have all been decimated today. I informed of my Vitality, Vigour to all the worlds. I have fulfilled the pledge I have done; I am now worry less. Vascilating Ravana abducted you when I wasn’t physically present. This calamity which was caused by Divine intervention, I erased that slander by Human efforts. A person who does not remove the insult done to him without human efforts can Purusharthas {(1) Dharma-Righteous conduct- Duty- Pious- humble-Charity -being Noble (2) Material-money,(3) Desire-ambition-Children,(4) Moksha-Attain God’s feet} be concluded by him? He is of little Valour. Hanuman’s crossing the Sea, Destroying Lanka, and showing Exploits in the Battle field has helped in fructifying. Sugreeva showed his exploits in Battle and has been my Friend all along and all the efforts he made has fructified. Having Left his Elder brother Vibheeshana supported me and his efforts made this fructified. “like the Deer surrounded by Tigers she shed Tears profusely and was trembling Mirandu (petrified, frightened).
Like pouring the Ghee (Melted Butter) in a raging flame, it infuriated Rama further. Shrinking his eye brows not liking Sita standing in front of him, he gave a side glance, while all the Rakshasaas and Vanaras were hearing with cruel words he abused her “What one should do to remove his insult, I have done all that without any shortcomings. In earlier times Ilvala Asura in South Brhamagyani Agasthya killed him and retrieved himself, like wise I killed Ravana and retrieved you from the enemy who abducted you. Due to the Vitality of my Friends I crossed the sea called Battle. But do think I did all this for your sake; I am born in the stainless Ikshwaku Dynasty; I have earned matchless Fame; I had to fulfill my Kshatriya Dharma; removing the insult meted out to me. Since you lived in the wicked Ravana’s house I have misgiving on your conduct. Like person having pain in the eye, he cannot stand the lighted Lamp’s illuminence, trouble him, similarly I am not able to bear your standing in front of me; It is causing me untold hardships. Do not stand infront of me. There is nothing to be achieved by me because of You. You can move about in all10 Direction without any hindrance. I have given you approval. You can go to place of your choice. A person born in Noble family, with matchless Aura and Valour if he calls himself a Man would he tolerate a wife who lived in his enemy’s house for 10 months under his control and Authority and accept Her return? Ravana touched you and kept you in his Lap and went; with Lustful eyes he saw you. Having got the name of having been born in a stainless Ikshwaku dynasty, if I accept you and take you will not each Living being ridicule me? To keep up my Clan’s Dharma and protect my Honour I retrieved you from my Enemy; I will earn special Fame. I do not have an iota of desire for you. You can go to your place of choice. I am not saying this in rage and with no control over myself. This decision is taken after contemplating for Long in a peaceful manner. As per shashtras Ladies should never be free, You can live in the houses of these People who are like your sons - Lakshmana, Bharatha, Shatrugna, Sugreeva, Vibheeshana in any of their houses. You can live in any of theses houses of your choice. You are matchlessly beautiful; You enchant the heart of those who look at you, Ravana had desire for you and took you. Upto 10 months he kept you in his queen’s chambers. In all respects you were in his Vasam (Enticed, Lured, clutch, strangle hold, captured, captivated, enamoured) would you not have been influenced by him?” - said Rama.
Rama who was more dear than her Life, having been separated for Long and having the hope of even seeing him, at that juncture with Divine intervention I am able to see him. With his honey like words his Love for her had not diminished, instead it grew manifold with this expectation Sita came to assuage her pent up Longings for him stacked up within herself for 10 Months. Whereas hearing the Most Wretched Cruel words being spoken by her darling husband she cursed her Fate poured Tears in stream unabated, and suffered like the Young tree which had been hit and broken by a Rogue Elephant.
