Prahastha Killed
Seeing the Greatly Prowessed Prahastha coming for the War, Rama with a benign smile asked Vibheeshana “That Rakshasaa with a huge Body and surrounded by countless Army is coming who is that warrior?” (As Rama saw a strong enemy he was happy and smile emerged. Prahastha came from east fort entrance while Rama was in Northern entrance. How this was known to Rama is due to his confident personnel information he takes it as the truth). Vibheeshana replied “Lord! he is Ravana’s chief of Army; he is the expert in Astra (is an individually targetted or WMD missile-type weapon that is to be hurled at an enemy. Examples include arrows from bows. A shastra is a personal weapon, like swords and maces, that must be constantly operated by the warrior And are of Varied types some obtained from Divine Prayers) Vidhya or knowledge; his name is Prahastha; he is chief of 1/3rd of the Lankan Army. One who does not retreat in Battle; he has earned fame in many a battle.
Then with the body in Huge Dimension and Prowess which will terrrorise any of the enemies , was reverberating like the Summer clouds thunder with Rakshasass of huge My mountain size accompanying him, seeing the Prahstha coming for war, the Vanaras were happy and Roared. The Armours which were shining like the Shakthi (Lancer with pointed spear or Multi pointed Spear from Spehrical ball with many sharp spear extentions), Trident, Spear, Ulakkai (Iron Long crow bar) , Bow etc being carried Rakshasaas wanted to win over Vanaras and came running. Great Vanaras with freshly bloomed flowers Trees, Long wide boulders with them the huge Vanaras pounced on them. Both sides pelted huge boulders and Arrows / weapons and with hand to hand combat started fighting a pitched battle, Countless Vanaras by Rakshasaaas and Limitless Rakshasaas by Vanaras Died in that fierce battle. While some were piereced by Tridents; some were sheared by Chakra Ayudha (constantly revolving Wheel weapon with sharp tooth on it’s rim); some were ht by the rotund iron long bars; some were hacked with sickles; some persons heart was slit open; some were killed by Sarangal (number of ropes thus called, a noose by the which anumber of enemies are choked similar to Laso used by Cow boys ); some were cut into half by sword and fell and rolled on the ground and died; some with trident split open on the rib cage side ways and died. Vanaras got angry with Moutnains peaks and Trees rubbed crowds of Rakshasaas on the ground with their armoury ; with their Fist like indestructible alloy and slapped with their broad Palms like tunder , with teeth broken and Eyes popping out Rakshasaas blurted /coughed out Blood. Unable to bear the torture Many were Kadhara (Pleading, Yelling, Bellowing, screaming loudly in Exasperation) while some were jubilantly roaring on their individual accomplishment making others deaf. Both sides warriors started to show their capabilities. Rolling their eyes starring without battign an eye lid with no fear as Cruel natured started doing impossible daring acts of war.
Narantahka, Kumbhamanu, Mahanatha, Sammunatha the 4 ministers of Prahastha preyed on the Vanaras from all 4 sides and killed them. Seeing that Dwividha attacked with a huge Mountain peak Naranthaka, Dhurmukha with a huge tree the Sammunatha, Jhambhavvan with a huge boulder Mhanatha and Tara with a Tree hit Kumbhamanu and killed them instantly. Seeing this Prahastah could not toelerate and attacked Vanaras with Bhanas (Arrows with feathers) killed crowds and crowds of them using his Astra (is an individually targetted or WMD missile-type weapon that is to be hurled at an enemy).
Analogy of Battle field (during Good VS Evil war) Vs River
Since both Armies got entangled and moving constantly mingles with each other hurling at each other and on the prowl, it was like a Whirlpool. There was a huge sound like the thunderstorm in the sea which got churned. Prahastha enraged incessantly showered Bhanas by killing Vanaras and thus showed his class as a warrior.Due to the felling of Rakshasaas and Vanaras that battle field looked like Mounds of Corpses covering the earth and was looking attrocious. The earth was not visible due to Flood of Blood like the forest which is covered by the Flowers. The battle field was a river; the bodies of both side warriors were its banks; the broken armoury were the trees on it’s banks; Blood is the water of this River; the Yama (God of Death) who is loitering there to take away Lives of warriors and Animals participating in war is the ocean towards which the River flows; the muscles on both sides of heart is the marshy Land of Flesh,Blood ; the tilted Livers are the alage (Paasi); the sheared Limbs and Heads are the Fish ; Limbs, parts of the body washed ashore is the tender grass in it’s banks ; Eagles are the Swans; Kites are the Sarasa Birds; the Fat is the Froth; the yelling, bellowing, screaming is the sound of water falling; the timid can’t cross it; This River was crossed by Vanaras and Rakshasaas. Like the Rogue Elephants which get into the Lotus streams and stir its Flowers and get the colour of the Lotus flower powder and reach other side of the River, so did the Warriors soaked in Blood with Red colour bodies were seen coming out.
Prahastha from his chariot was showering incessantly Arrows on Vanaras killing many of them. This was seen by Neel the Vanara General. Like the strong wind brushes aside the clouds, Prahastha saw Neel brushing aside the Rakshasaa Army coming towards him.Prahstha moved his Chariot which was shining like the Sun towards Neel. The superb Archer this Prahastha is, rung the bow pulled the strings and made Dankaram sound announcing his nearing Neel and pierced him with many Arrows, which like angry serpents pierced Neel and fell on the ground. He having been hurt by the sharp pointed Arrows which caused burning sensation, plucked a Tree he hit the Rakshas warrior whp was pouncing on him with pride. Prahastha angered showered innumerable Arrows on Neel. Unable to stop them, Neel closed his eyes. Like a well grown Ox which has been trapped being caught in the Summer Rains stood still. Then plucked a Big AchaTreeHe hit the horses on the Prahastha Chariot, broke his Bow and roared. Prahstha jumped from his Chariot took an Ulakai (Long War Hammer made of Melted Iron) in his hand. Both of them are Chief of their respective Armies; greatly strong; extremely swift; eternal hatered unto each other; like the roguish elephants both were profusely bleeding each oen tore the other with sharp teeth, Both were having strength of Lion & TIGER.They also have their Gait and actions as well; till then they aven’t seen defeat; Valorous warriors; one who do not retreat in battle field; each one wanted & tried to win over the other to earn Fame; they were like Deva raja and Vridhasura. Prahastha with his full force hit Neel on his forehead. Neel with blood profusely bleeding all over his body, plucked a Tree hit hard on Prahastha’s chest. With disdain Prahastha pounced on Neel with his Ulakai (War Hammer made of Melted Iron). Seeing that Neel in a split second plucked a huge Boulder and Hit Prahastha on his head. That pulverized Prahastha’s head, his seses shattered losing his strength without Life, Aura fell like an oprooted tree on the ground. From his body, head Blood poured like the waterfall in a mountain.
Seeing their rmy chief salin by Neel, till then unperturbed Rakshasaa army lost its enthusiasm, unhappy, not knowing what to do could not stand in front of the Vanara Army. Like the Large Dam which has cracked water splashes they scurried inall directions. They ran to Lanka and entered Ravana’s palace, sunk in sea of sorrow, as though unconscious stood still without talking aching in agonized silence. Then great stong Chief of Vanara Army Neel having won over and killed the Rakshasaa Army Chief in battle, went to where Rama Lakshmana were, did Namaskaram to them and informed them of the happenings. They and all the Vanaras were ecstatic felicitated and praised Agni’s (God of Fire) Son. (Slokas 67)
