Bharatha reaches Ayodhya
They set east wards of Rajagriha , crossed Sudhama, Haladhini rivers, went close to the town of Eladhana where lot of Cardomm is grown, crossing the west ward bound River Sathadruva, stayed in a village Apraparpada to unwind themselves for a short while. Then they crossed the mighty Siahvaa river whose current was capable of pulling the Granite stones, and in that Northeast direction through the town of Salyakarthana and assuring those people’s fear to be erased, and wanting to see the Chaithraradham forest corssed huge hills and crossed the waters of Saraswathy, Sindhu and Ganga entered the Baarunda forest which was in north of Veeramats ya country. Then crossed the Kulinga which has a fast current and surrounded by Mountains near the Yamuna, allowed the entourages to take rest who have become tired due to Heat of the Summer. The Horses which had walked long distance and tired, were allowed to lie down in shadow, bathed and cleaned in river. He himself took bath and completed the Prayers , finished his Lunch , as water was not available water was filled and he started.
Like Vayu Bhagawan(God of Air) who travels on top of the most capable Elephant of the Bathra breed moves about in the Sky on top of the Desert, without being stopped by the mountians,Bharatha went passed the Forest quickly. Near the city of Amsuthaan, having come to know of the difficulty to cross Ganga there , they corssed it near Prakvat and reached the village Dahrmavarthana, then reached Dhrana and went southwards, via Jhambooprastha village reached Varutha.
That night they stayed in the neaby Forest. Started in the morning and went east towards Ujjihaana stayed in a Grove nearby There after since it was Koshala country, he stopped his Army and without fear and asking them to come slowly, tied up the fast speeding horses to the Chariots , Bharatha went ahead. Stayed for the night in a village called Sarvatheertha. He crossed Uthanika river easily with the horses bred in hilly terrain.Came near the Hasthibrusta village and crossed kutia river from ther went to Louhithya city and crossed the near by river Kapivathi. He crossed the rivers Sthanumathy near Ekasala and then Gomthi near Vinatha village and went and took rest in the grove of hermitage near the Kalinga city. That night he crossed the forest and he reached Ayodhya early morning.
Continuously travelling for 7 days and nights on the 8th day morning he entered Ayodhya. “ Hey Charioteer ! this Famous city of Ayodhya which is surrounded by holy groves appears to have suffered and is looking less happy. The walls are not seen with Cow dung and are bare and white. See the Brahmins here are experts in Veda and Vedantha and are adorned with good Character known as samadamaathi; there are special priests who have done Yaga as per prescribed. They are reared by the Saintly King Dasaratha. Why the voices of happy Ladies and Gents who move around are not heard? Evening the couples go to gardens and playing through out night and go to all 4 directions; why that beauty and festivity not visible? Ayodhya without people movement looks like it is crying. Has th city become a forest? Unlike earlier times important people are not seen traversing early in the morning on Elephants, Horses or vehicles.
The bees which eat fruits, tender leafs, Honey; Parrots with pride, Cuckoo with bees ,Unique Trees which have been nurtured by watering in a small steam like path , the small Latha houses covered by Flowers, streams, and love gardens were bereft of Young Ladies and Gents are looking as though they are deserted and desolate. The shedding of leaves by the Trees akin to their crying with tears dropping. Despite sun having risen why are the birds and animals not cooing and growling after having food? The Air in the atmosphere pleasant and cool having usurped fragrance of Sandalwood,Akil etc is absent.beri, Mridhangam drum instruements and string instruements like Veena reverberate in all 4 directions spreading happiness ,and this is not heard from anywhere. Many a bad Omen is seen. Some big danger is going to happen. Can I believe all my realtions are safe , can I believe that? hence my Manam{ Chitha (Memory)+Inner Conscience Mind +Intellect (Bhuddhi) +Ego} is coagulated.” Thus suspecting ,with unsteady mind with aching feeling and unable to imagine anything, entered the Vaijhayantha Fort.
The Security gaurds said ‘ Victory be yours !’, and blessed him. He came to Queen’s chambers with them. He stopped those security gaurds who were filled with different thoughts “Charioteer !why should they ask me to come suddenly without any reason?i am suspecting some disaster has befallen. My Manam {Chitha(Memory)+Inner Conscience Mind +Intellect(Bhuddhi) +Ego}is giving way. The symptoms which I have heard and said when the King is dead, those are seen now. The Houses which normally has the front cleaned up and Kolam/Rangoli (drawings with Rice powder) to enhance the beauty of the house entrance are not seen; nor there chanting of prayers; the doors are ajar and without any fragrance emanating from inside the house of insence sticks; the religious Karmas (activities) of Agnihothras, Homa, and the daily rituals like Vaiswaydheavam are not being performed, why people are not taking food in the houses? The Divine places are bereft of garlands and flower Arches nor or they cleaned why is it empty without Preists and others? As the Prayers for celestials are not being done the Yagashala (Here Homas are conducted )is empty; the flower shops are not having flowers and Garlands. Traders not doing business are a worried lot as can be seen in their faces. Even the brids which are in the Trees of the Temples look pale and gloomy. Ladies and Gents not neatly dressed with swollen eyes are too stunned with worry thus saying, seeing all the bad Oomens entered the King’s palace. There was no human traffick in the 4 road junctions are in the Boulevard people were absent. The Doors was dirty without those servants present. Earlier the Ayodhya city which looked like the Devendra’s Capital (Celestial City of Amravathi) with all wealth, seeing it desolate Bharatha saw bad Oomens hither to not seen and was hanging his head in sorrow and walked to Dasaratha’s,chambers.(Slokas 46) .
