Ravana Contaminates Sugreeva
Then a Rakshasaa named Chaardhoolan came and saw the Army of Sugreeva in the Sea Shore. He was the Spy of Ravana the wicked. (Ravana is called wicked here because it was not the right time and sent his Dhoothan (Spy) secretively. He went around the Army on all 4 sides returned very fast to Ravana and said “Great King! Dasaratha’s sons Rama Lakshmana with Best of Armaments have come in search of Sita. I saw it casually; You should know the Truth some how. Very quickly send Dhootha (Emissary, Envoy, Ambassador, Diplomat, Spy). With Rama direct attack will not be fruitful. Use the Sama Dhana Bedha i.e.,Counselling, negotiate, entice with wealth, differential treatment according to nature of Crime) suitably” said Chaardhoola. Hearing that Ravana thought well and having decided the course of action and absorbing the informations, chose ‘Sukha’ who was very clever in articulating and called him and instructed him ‘You go immediately to Sugeeva, please convey the words I am going to tell Properly, Sweetly and Courageously’ this way. “Hey great King! Immediately Sukha in the disguise of Bird crossed the Sea in the Skylane came in front of Vanara’s Army and looking at Sugreeva said what Ravana conveyed from the sky itself without leaving anything. Meanwhile Vanaras jumped in the sky catching hold of Sukha thrashed him, punched him and started tearing him. Unable to bear that Sukha fell from the sky. Then seeing Vanaras tormenting him Sugreeva cried out aloud “Oh My! Rama! Control these people. Can we kill the emissaries? The person who convey his own opinion other than what his master had conveyed, only that emissary need to be punished” yelled Sugreeva. Hearing his pleading words Rama told the Vanara Warriors “Do not Kill Him” and ordered. Immediately he went up in the sky not bothering about the torture meted out by Vanaras and his wings have been broken ignoring said “Sugreeva! Hey Valiant Prowess! What have I got to tell you? You have to consider the Valour of Ravana and his Vigour. If I do not take a return message from you Ravana will kill me” said Sukha.
Hearing that Sugreeva who was Great Strongman and matches Courage said “Hey Rakshasaa You are not my friend!, how can you call yourself as Elder brother? There is no justifiable reason for me to show mercy to you. You haven’t done any help to me. Nor do I have any good feelings for you. Since you are the Enemy of my Friend Rama so You are my Eenemy too. Since you are the friend of Vali who was my Enemy, you are enemy too.Though you have not done any Harm to me directly, Like Vali this one reason is enough to kill you. You, Your Sons, Your relations, Your paternal cousins will destroy all of them and with my Vanara Army will turn your capital into Ashes. Fool! because of Your Aparadh (Unpardonable acts such as sin, misdemanour, delinquency, infraction, violation, crime, offence, guilt, lawbreaker, crime, outlaw, felony) All those belonging to your kingdom are going to suffer and will be decimated. Would Rama leave you, even if Celestials and Indra’s are going to support you? if you ask ‘You go away from Lanka what can Rama do?’ Where ever you hide, even If you hide in the Sun’s Sky lane, or get ensconced in Pathaal Lok (Beneath Earth) can you escape Rama? In all the worlds amongst all types of Creaures be it Pishacha or Rakshasaa or Gandharva or Asura or Deva (Celestials) and their Entourages will they Dare try save You the Rama’s Enemy? You are scaring me that ‘If you remain with Rama, I will kill you like Jhatayu’ What greatness is there in Killing an old, tired Eagle? Will that work with me? if you ask “What did Rama do when you abducted his wife? What can he do now?” had you usurped his wife in his presence then you would have known then! Lakshmana alone was enough! you have not realized the calamity you have invited by abducting and keeping Sita in Lanka! Rama is a Great Strongman; greatly intelligent; even Devas can’t oppose him; You haven’t realized that he is the Greatest King of Ikshwaku Dynasty! nor his original Form. He is going to rob your Praanan (Life force, Last Breathe, that without which causes Physical and medical Death).
Then Vali’s son Angadha“ King! He is not emissary. He is a spy who has been sent to find out our secrets; there is no sin in killing him. He jumped in the sky, caught Sukha who was wailing like an orphan and he just did not bother about him, cruelly tortured him. Unable to bear that Sukha addressed Rama “Dasratha’s Son! Vanaras are breaking my Wings and piercing my Eyes. If I die in their hands, all the Sins I have committed from my birth till death should reach you” said he. Hearing those pleading words ‘Release him without killing him’ Rama ordered. And Vanaras too conceded they left him in the souther shore of Lanka (Slokas34)
