Sita Brought
Great Intelligent and Best amongst warriors Hanuman went to Rama and said “Lord! The purpose for which we took this effor, the reason we built bridge across the sea, Laid siege of Lanka, destroyed the Rakshasaa Army, Killed Ravana , the benefit of the same is You should give audience to Sita. She due to sorrow is heart rending pale faced, with Tears rolling down her eyes, sitting in Ashoka Garden. I went and submitted Your Killing Ravana. Hearing that she was ecstatic. Due to the longing for me because on Earlier occasion she said “Anjhaneya! I would like to see my Husband and Lakshama who killed the Rakshasaas and are shining with JayaLakshmi (Goddess of Victory)” thus she made submission.
The greatest amongst the Dharmic Souls Rama heard that with tears welling in his eyes started thinking deeply “Sita who had lived in Ravana’s house this Long if I admit her now, I will be butt of World’s wagging tongue, if I shun the innocent Janaki I will inherit he Greatest Sin. What should I do to avert this Sankat (troubles, travails, obstacles, worst scenario, delicate situations, predicaments)? Sita who had undergone unmentionable Travails will be again subjected to this ordeal” thus pondering breathing warmly was staring at the Earth. Then he looked at Vibheeshana who was eagerly awaiting for instruction “Please arrange for Auspicious Bath with choicest perfumes and ornaments please adorn her please bring her quickly” ordered Rama.
Vibheeshana soon hurried up running, entred Queen’s Chambers through his maids conveyed “Lady! Please have Auspicious Bath with choicest perfumes and adorn these ornaments and get into the palanquin. You husband would like to see you” - thus informed Sita. In turn Sita replied “Child! It is not like that it is better I see my Husband as it is”. Vibheeshana said ‘it is appropriate to do as per Rama’s order’. Janaki who adores her Husband as God and observes her devotion as Fast consented to do so.
Then Sita was given auspicious bath, was adorned with costly ornaments and garments. Vibhheshan got her boarded on the Planquin Shining like sun with proper thinly veiled Screen and with Rakshasaas
duly armed as security guards brought to where Rama was. Soon after she reached Rama, seeing him immersed in deep thoughts Vibheeshana bowed to him and said “Lord! as per your order I have brought Devi here” on hearing that the Raghunandana (Child of Raghu Race Rama) thought o himself “having killed Ravana after so much efforts, we could see Sita”, was happy: at the same time his face went pale ‘what will people of the world say “Sita had lived this Long in Ravana’s house“. He brought in his face a Pride to chide Sita with Harsh words, then he planned what is done to be done next, acted as though he is unhappy talked to Vibheeshana “Lord of Rakshasaa! Child! You are well wisher of my Victory and well being; let Vaidheyhee (Sita) be brought here quickly. Soon Vibheeshana asked the people around to disperse and give room. The body gaurds of Queen’s chambers with sticks moved the Rakshasaas, Bears and Vanaras alike to some distance. Then a huge roar like the sound emanates in the Sea when a storm brews.
Seeing that Rama who had great affinity for Vanaras, unable to bear the treatment meted out to them, stared at the intelligent Vibheeshana scornfully with raging eyes said you dared to harass them inspite of my presence here, enough stop it. Whom do you think they are? They belong to me; they are equal to my Life. Do you consider that Houses, Garments, Screens, accompanying persons, and chasing the people around and other paraphernalia, do you think that these ensure the safety for woman? Their good conduct is their security. Is their Mind their security or wall their security? When there is National Catastrophe / Disaster place, in Battle Field, during Swayamvaram, in the Yagashala (Sacrificial place where offerings are made by chanting verses to Gods to appease them and thus usher in prosperity and well being of one and all), during Marriage, Ladies can be seen. Right now Sita has come to Battle field; She is going to face hardship shortly; further She is near me; if all see Sia there is nothing wrong; Quickly bring her here. For my sake they have given their Lives and I am in their midst let Sita come here, What are the purpose of these Vanaras leaving their houses and come here? Why did so many of them die fighting the Rakshasaas in Battle? This was to alleviate the sufferings of Sita and was it not to give life to Sita? Hence they are like Father to Sita. What is wrong in Father looking at his Daughter?’ asked Rama.
Hearing these harsh words Vibheeshana was scared and trembled, very respectfully brought Sita very close to Rama.
Lakshmana and Anjhaneya hearing Rama’s words said “What is this contrary? We have seen Rama in deep anguish and how he had lamented time and again physically. For Sita’s sake he was ready to destroy all the worlds, if you hear the words spoken now, it is as though he had hatred towards her and as though he has decided that he doesn’t need her” - this pained them immensly.
Then Sita with shyness and her body shrinking due to shame “Oh My! After such a long time, after so much trouble I got the opportunity to see my Lord and I was happy, he is not looking at me, at the starting itself I am forced to hear the Thunder like Angry words, thus she had Varutham (Upset, regret, perturbed, feel sorry, sad, pained, unhappy). Ashamed of coming in front of Men she covered her face with Veil came slowly towards Rama and said “Arya Son!“ with voice chked with anguish unable to speak was shedding Tears profusely cried. She had never seen her husband radiating Aura after having a fierce battle. Hence with limitless surprise said ‘When I thought Maanum (Dignity, Pride, Self respect, Societal status), Praanan, Husband, Relations , Fame had left me all the Dangers, mishaps evaporated like Dew on arrival of Sun” Sita was ecstatic, since she considered her husband as God, with unstained affinity to Rama She looked up at his Divine face. It has blossomed like the Full Moon with reddish tinge. Like the spotless Moon in next few seconds his Face became distraught. However Sita on seeing her darling husband from whom she had been separated for Long all her Dhukkam (Grief, Pain, Anguish, sorrow, suffering, worry, unhappiness, heart rending situations) doubts, misgivings, anguish vanished. (Slokas 37)
